This Privacy Policy explains what information Roomtone ("the App", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address, a password (stored in hashed form — we never see or store it in plain text), and a username. You may also set an optional display name.
Content you create. We store the messages you send in group chats and direct messages, the groups you create or join, friend requests you send or receive, and any users you block.
Voice chat. Voice calls use peer-to-peer audio (WebRTC): your microphone audio is streamed directly to the other participant's device and is never recorded, transferred to, or stored on our servers. Brief connection-setup information (who is joining a call) passes through our real-time messaging service but is not persisted afterward.
Moderation reports. If you report another user, we store the reason and details you provide, along with a snapshot of the reported user's profile (username and display name) at the time of the report, so that the report remains meaningful even if that user later changes their profile or deletes their account.
We do not use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs of any kind.
We use the information above only to operate the App's core features: authenticating you, delivering messages and calls, enabling friend/group functionality, and reviewing reported content for moderation purposes.
We use Supabase to host our database, authentication, and real-time messaging infrastructure. Supabase processes data on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes. We do not sell or share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated profile data at any time from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. This action is irreversible.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us using the information below so we can remove it.
You may access, correct, or delete your account information at any time through the App's Settings screen, or by contacting us directly.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
